Too Lazy To Turn On The Stove To Cook Your Oats? Try Soaking Them!

One of my favorite grains in the world are oats. They can be the rolled oats, steel cut oats or just the instant ones. Hot or cold, they are a delicious and nutritious meal that has no rules on what time you eat it. Sweet or savory, this has been a favorite for both young and old.
One technique I've learned from my sister is overnight soaked oats. This technique is for someone who needs to get up early in the morning and have no time to prepare breakfast. From the name itself, the oats are soaked the night before.
What I do is get some nice organic rolled oats and whatever power food (chia, goji berries, cacao nibs, etc.) I can find in my pantry and throw them in with milk (soy, full cream, etc) and leave them in an air tight mason jar or any plastic container. What you get in the morning is a delicious mix of all these ingredients with a bite. Not a mushy warm consistency like what we are all used to.
Here's the recipe for the Overnight Soaked Rolled Oats with Chia, Fresh Ripe Mangoes and Hemp Hearts
1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
2 Tbs. Chia Seeds
1 Cup Milk of Choice
1 Tsp. Coconut Sugar
1 Ripe Mango (Diced)
2 Tbs. Hemp Hearts
Basically, you just soak all of these ingredients together. Its your choice with power food to leave out to sprinkle over the mangoes. For this recipe, I left out the hemp hearts and soaked the rest with oats.
Eating this reminds me of eating chilled meusli :)
